Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on Dropover's website and the Dropover app for macOS.

Automatic Collection of Information

You can use Dropover without revealing any personal identity. However, we automatically collect limited technical information to improve functionality, such as your operating system version and preferred language.

Our server infrastructure may also temporarily store technical information like your IP address for operational, diagnostic, or abuse-prevention purposes.

Dropover Cloud

  • When you upload files to Dropover Cloud, they are securely stored on Cloudflare R2 servers. Files remain available until you delete them or they expire based on system-defined limits. View Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
  • Dropover does not collect or store any personal data when using Dropover Cloud. However, to prevent misuse and enforce fair usage, Dropover stores the following:
    • A non-identifiable instance identifier (stored indefinitely to calculate upload allowances and maintain service integrity).
    • The IP address associated with each upload (retained as long as the uploaded file exists, and deleted once the file is removed or expires).
    • Basic file metadata, including file type, file size, and a non-reversible file fingerprint. This metadata is used for abuse prevention, operational diagnostics, and service monitoring.
This data is used exclusively for operational and abuse-prevention purposes and is not shared with third parties.
  • All data transmitted to Dropover Cloud is encrypted in transit using SSL (HTTPS). Files are not encrypted at rest.
  • When you delete a file from Dropover Cloud, it is permanently removed from the storage provider (Cloudflare R2).

Third-Party Integrations

  • Dropover supports integration with third-party cloud services, including Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, and AWS S3 (or compatible providers). When linking these services:
    • Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive: Dropover stores the OAuth token locally on your device to enable communication. It does not access, process, or share any of your data beyond what is necessary to upload files and generate shareable links.
    • AWS S3 and compatible providers: Dropover stores only the credentials you manually provide (e.g., access key and secret) locally. These are used solely to connect to your S3-compatible service and perform file uploads.
  • You can manage or revoke access to any linked service at any time through Dropover’s preferences.
  • Third-party service privacy policies:

Information Usage

We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure. All communication between the Dropover app or website and our servers is encrypted using SSL (HTTPS). However, files stored in Dropover Cloud are not encrypted at rest.

Accessing, Changing, or Deleting Information

You may access or delete your Dropover Cloud uploads at any time via the Dropover macOS app. For linked third-party cloud services, file access and deletion are governed by the respective provider’s policies.

Dropover may also delete your information at any time and for any reason, such as technical needs, legal concerns, abuse prevention, removal of idle accounts, data loss, or other operational reasons.
